The Stafford Estate is an integral part of Sri Lanka’s rich plantation heritage.
Originally constructed as a planter’s bungalow in Sri Lanka in 1844 during the era of pioneering tea planters, Stafford Bungalow is nestled within a 50-acre working tea plantation. Over the years, this private estate has been lovingly restored and updated, evolving into a charming hillside retreat and an exclusive holiday destination.
Significant enhancements have been made to both the Heritage Bungalow and its surrounding gardens, with the latest additions completed recently.
A spacious dining pavilion has been introduced, providing guests with a comfortable dining area and an additional sitting space that overlooks the lush gardens.
Additionally, a two-bedroomed owners’ cottage has been constructed, featuring elegant interiors and fittings, allowing guests access to their own private garden. This cottage is strategically positioned for enhanced privacy while remaining close to the Pavilion and the Heritage Bungalow.
To further enrich the experience, an ‘Ambalama’, complete with an infinity swimming pool and heated jacuzzi, adds to the allure of the Bungalow.
Both the Pavilion and the Owners’ Cottage embody a contemporary aesthetic, thoughtfully designed to complement the Heritage Bungalow.
We are committed to continuously investing in our properties and our people, striving to provide curated experiences that showcase the best of the Sri Lankan hill country.
