When you reach the bungalow, in the Camellia fields, an amazing view welcomes you... The air scents tea, temperature is fresh, the garden is filled with fine colourful plants, the bungalow is elegant, very clean, staff is polite, ready to take care of your requests.

Drive around the country lanes of Britain and you come upon this lovely old cottage. There’s a white picket fence around the manicured lawn, dahlias, rhododendrons and lilies bloom in the garden. Well we just arrived there, except its not Britain its tea country Sri Lanka. The room, as does the whole of the premises, gave the feel of a country estate from times gone by and reflecting the character of the pioneering Scottish owners. The main part of the suite consisted of a luxurious four poster bed with a large area of rich polished wood flooring around it.

Stafford is a well maintained bungalow and it has he a colonial heritage which is evident in its' interior and architecture. Rooms are nice and spacious and clean linen is provided and refreshed daily.

The location and the surroundings were breathtaking. The bungalow had a perfect blend of antique and modern architecture. It was kept in a very clean and nice condition. Beautifully landscaped garden was just right for relaxation.

We stayed a couple of nights at the Stafford Bungalow while visiting Nuwara Eliya.Its a Lovely location on a tea plantation.We were greeted with wet towels and a lovely cold drink.We had a lovely big room and bathroom.The chef came out and introduced himself to us and discussed dinner which was delicious.

The Stafford Bungalow is a delightful boutique hotel nestled in the hills a short distance from Nuwara Eliya. From the cleanliness, food and quality of service, to the beautiful environment and security, everything was top notch. The staff went about their business as unobtrusively as possible and made us feel right at home. Definitely a place to go to when in the hill country.
