The interior of Stafford Bungalow takes you back in time to the colonial days of old Ceylon. Its wooden floors, stone fireplaces, hipped roof and heirloom ornaments have their tales to tell.

Entering through the two stout wooden doors, the bungalow instantly fills you with warmth from the outside chill and welcomes you home. With many ornately carved mirrors, antique vanities, woven fininishings, and an upward sloping roof, the bungalow is a typical English country home from a Jane Austen novel come to life.

Stafford Bungalow has its own collection of local art, and at its heart lies a captivating mural that depicts Sri Lanka on canvas. Paintings by some of the island’s most talented artists capture the essence of our local art. Discuss with our butler to learn the expression intended by these artists that stimulate their thoughts, emotions, and beliefs.
The living area extends to our reading room with a bookrack of novels spanning the genres, as well as journals, fact books and historical records. Indulge in reading from the collection of light reading books from local and international authors. Journals from a bygone era are also carefully preserved and available to immerse yourself in nostalgia.

A collection of films is also available to indulge in. These range from international blockbusters to films from a local perspective that have a strong connection to our island home.
