One of the many specialities of Ceylon tea is that it’s plucked by hand. Tea pluckers – donned in their bright coloured garments with a sack wrapped around their heads – pluck new leaf shoots, carefully picking two leaves and one bud which make the best and finest of teas.
Enjoy an early morning walk and head for the tea gardens with a tea basket to handpick the best shoots, which by late noon will reach the factory before becoming your cup of tea.
